「世界閱讀日」系列活動：《Budding Garden 2026》新書發行儀式

本校於4月17日舉行了簡單而隆重的英文作文集《Budding Garden 2026》新書發行儀式，與師生一同見證這個充滿文字芳香的美好時刻。

早在2023年，我們已出版了首本文集《Budding Garden》。事隔三年，第二本文集順利面世，延續了學生以文字栽種心靈花園的理念。本書收錄了多篇英文及葡文的優秀作品，題材多元，包括記敍文、議論文、故事、詩歌，以及充滿藝術美感的書法作品，全面展現了同學們在語文及藝術創作上的才華與心思。

儀式上，校長勉勵同學們要「多閱讀、多想像、多練習」，並指出閱讀與寫作是擴闊視野、豐富心靈的重要途徑。同時，我們特別邀請了多位小作者上台分享寫作心得，當中既有在校學生，也有已畢業的校友。他們真誠的分享讓大家看到，寫作不僅是課堂上的練習，更是記錄成長、表達自我與連繫世界的一扇窗。

感謝所有參與創作、編輯、審稿及設計的老師和同學們! 願《Budding Garden 2026》能成為同學手中常翻閱的一本書，在文字的花園裡，繼續孕育更多創意與夢想。

On 17 April, our school held a publication ceremony for our new English writing collection, Budding Garden 2026. In a warm yet meaningful ceremony, teachers and students came together to celebrate our young writers and the power of words.

Our Budding Garden journey began in 2023 with the publication of the first anthology. Three years on, the second volume has now taken root, carrying forward the idea that writing can nurture a garden in the heart. The new collection features outstanding pieces in both English and Portuguese, including narratives, argumentative essays, short stories, poems, and beautifully crafted calligraphy. Together, they showcase our students’ creativity, sensitivity, and artistic flair.

During the ceremony, our Principal Dr. Samuel Kio encouraged students to “read more, imagine more, and practice more”, reminding us that reading and writing are powerful ways to broaden our horizons and enrich our inner lives. Several young authors—current students and alumni—were invited on stage to share their writing journeys. Their honest reflections showed that writing is more than a classroom task; it is a way to record our growth, express our true selves, and connect with the wider world.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teachers and students involved in writing, editing, reviewing, and designing this publication.

May Budding Garden 2026 become a book that students return to again and again, and may this garden of words continue to inspire new ideas, fresh perspectives, and big dreams.
